Perry Elementary is celebrating March is Reading Month with the theme: Reading is Magical! The lobby area has been transformed into 4 different puppet theaters for students to practice retelling, readers theater, and creative storytelling. Guest readers including high school athletes, family members,board members, and business owners will visit the classrooms to share their love of reading. Special days are designated throughout the month including wearing a shirt you can read, hats off to reading, and flashlight Fridays, where students get to read their favorite books using flashlights purchased by the PTO. Students will get to interact virtually with some of their favorite authors to learn about the book writing and illustrating process. Different students will spotlight their favorite books over the PA for their peers to enjoy. This month-long celebration will conclude with a magic show assembly focusing on the magic of reading.
